This blend (62% Zinfandel, 27% Syrah and 11% Petite Sirah aged in French and American oak barrels for 21 months) has resulted in a unique and fantastic wine. It is rich in flavors and aromas of blackberry and black cherry fruit, complemented by black licorice and mint, framing silky tannins and a rich, lingering finish.
We call this blend “Second Block” to highlight the remarkable taste we expect from the hundred-year-old cutting we have planted on the sun-drenched west facing second slope of our Estate, which we call the “Second Block”.
